The Red-vented Bubul is well established on Oahu, but was first spotted on Maui on November 28 in Spreckelsville. There have now been sightings in Wailuku/Kahului area as well. These birds are extremely invasive and likely to cause damage to Maui’s wildlife and agriculture if they spread.
